POSITION TITLE: Seafood Section Manager


LOCATION: Marukai Gardena

SUMMARY: The Seafood Section Manager is responsible for providing Customers with outstanding service through friendly, quick, efficient, accurate and safe assistance in the Seafood Department.



  • Assists the Department Manager with making cutting fish, purchasing and inventory control

  • Meets or exceeds Seafood Department’s sales goals assigned through the efficient execution of Company policies and procedures

  • Works various shifts or days as assigned by the Seafood Manager in accordance with the Company’s business needs

  • Oversees and directs associates under his/her supervision

  • Ensures Seafood is handled, stocked, rotated and merchandised to present a pleasing image for optimum traffic flow

  • Safely operates department equipment including slicer, scale, saw, knife and wrapper

  • Assists customers with special requests and answers questions about our Seafood products and services

  • Maintains good communication with store management, associates and outside contacts

  • Other tasks as assigned by Seafood Manager



  • 3-5 years of experience in store management and making cutting fish

  • Must have experience handling seafood


  • Maintains good communication with management, associates, vendors, and outside contacts ensures associates receive proper training and supervision.

  • Ability to maintain a knife grip in order to cut fish or other seafood to specification

  • Ability to withstand for long periods a working environment of 45°F or more

  • Ability to meet productivity standards established by Marukai Corporation

  • Ability to use in-store computer system and scanning equipment

  • Ability to weigh, price, label, organize and rotate Seafood products per Marukai's standards
