POSITION TITLE: Bilingual Assistant Store Manager. (English-Japanese)


SUMMARY: The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for assisting the Store Manager in managing sales, profits, staffing, image and operation of the store. Under the direction of the Store Manager, the Assistant Store Manager will proactively lead the store to ensure the success of business goals in revenues, expense, profitability, customer satisfaction, inventory shrinkage, and employee morale.  The Assistant Store Manager will provide customers and associates with outstanding service through friendly, quick, efficient, accurate and safe assistance.



  • Possesses a food handling license.

  • Possesses a forklift operating license desirable but not required.

  • Must be accredited by the National Registry of Food Safety Professionals or similar accrediting organization as a “Certified Food Safety Manager” or will be required to attend company paid training and have the ability to achieve accreditation within the first 90 days of employment.  Accreditation must be maintained while employed in a position in which it is required.



  • The ideal candidate should have previous experience in retail/restaurant or customer service environment required, previous experience in management preferably of a grocery store highly desirable



  • Associate degree from a two-year College is preferred but not required; a minimum of 3 to 5 years of work experience in a grocery chain establishment preferred. Customer service experience in a similar or comparable work environment, strong verbal communication skills supported by a pleasant and positive attitude of “can do” success

  • Strong operational skills with focus on great time management
